FOGABA Joins 140 Other Financial Institutions to Promote SME Finance

Washington, D.C., February 28, 2018 – The Fondo de Garantías de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (FOGABA) became the newest member of the SME Finance Forum, a global membership network that brings together financial institutions, technology companies, and development finance institutions to share knowledge, spur innovation, and promote the growth of SMEs.

200 million businesses worldwide need financing to invest, grow and create new jobs. We are proud to have FOGABA join our network of 140 members who work to expand access to finance for small and medium businesses,” said Matthew Gamser, CEO of the Forum.

FOGABA has granted guarantees to nearly 20,000 SMEs that develop their activities in the Province of Buenos Aires. FOGABA’s guarantees help SMEs access financing through banks, capital markets, non-banking financial companies and governmental and non-governmental funds.

“Membership with the SME Finance Forum will provide our team access to the practices and knowledge of how to support SMEs acquiring financing,” said Maria Laura García Conejero, CEO of FOGABA. “These benefits will help FOGABA continue to contribute Guarantee Funds to that purpose.”
