During the annual flagship event Global SME Finance Forum 2019 held last October, the SME Finance Forum organized ten study visits. The Forum's study visits are an integral part of the peer learning opportunities. During these visits, organized in Amsterdam and other Dutch cities, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the latest fintech innovations and good practice in SME banking and non-financial services from local institutions. 

One popular visit was organized to member Trefi, a business clearing and risk management software and infrastructure service provider. Around 20 participants attended this visit to learn about the “Business Clearing House”, the next generation of SME ease of doing business and access to finance solution. The Business Clearing House uses and goes beyond big data, AI and blockchain and is starting up in four continents. 

Participants were introduced to the general concept of a clearing house and how this was extrapolated to create a solution to make SMEs business and financing easier. The attendees could also appreciate a live demo of how the application integrates information of invoices and payments as well as available financing, that is being implemented nowadays in Peru.
