Ukrgasbank's portfolio of trade finance contracts expands by 35% in 2021

KYIV. Feb 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) -

The portfolio of trade finance contracts of the state-owned Ukrgasbank (Kyiv) in 2021 expanded to UAH 23 billion, which is 35% more than last year (UAH 17 billion), the bank's press service reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the growth of the portfolio is due to the support of trade finance contracts for Ukrgasbank by the International Finance Corporation and the EBRD, the opening and use of new limits from foreign banks and counterparties, and eco-trade finance contracts for the bank's clients.

JSB Ukrgasbank was founded in 1993. The state, represented by the Ministry of Finance, owns 94.94% of the shares of the financial institution.According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), as of January 1, 2022, Ukrgasbank ranked fourth with total assets of UAH 130.817 billion among 71 banks operating in the country.
