Kountable is a San Francisco-based tech company that is piloting an innovative solution to enhance access to finance for businesses in developing countries. The company has developed an application that provides financing to emerging entrepreneurs by measuring and transforming their social capital into financial resources.

Overview:
Entrepreneurs often possess an important and valuable form of capital that no one has been able to measure, until now: social capital. This intangible resource generated by their growing networks of affiliates and contacts plays a key role in the launch and growth of their businesses. With a new algorithm, Kountable allows entrepreneurs and SMEs to measure and receive a score—the kScore—for this valuable asset. The score can then be used to connect businesses with investors and secure funding.

About the Speaker:
Chris Hale –  Co-Founder and CEO of Kountable

Before Kountable, Chris was COO of Perigon Wealth Management, a Registered Investment Advisor managing approximately $1 billion. In the two years under his leadership, Perigon has grown assets nearly six-fold. Prior to Perigon, Chris served in senior leadership roles at two independent wealth advisory practices affiliated with LPL Financial and Ameriprise Financial. At Ameriprise, he rose to become one of the youngest vice presidents in the firm’s 100-year history. He also acted as a consultant to Ameriprise on sales strategy, new advisor training, and business practices. He is a graduate of Williams College, where he double-majored in English and Biology and also captained the varsity football team.
