JUMO Joins 150 Other Financial Institutions to Promote SME Finance

Washington, D.C. March 13, 2019JUMO became the newest member of the SME Finance Forum, a global membership network that brings together financial institutions, technology companies, and development finance institutions to share knowledge, spur innovation, and promote the growth of SMEs.

“200 million businesses worldwide need financing to invest, grow and create new jobs. We are proud to have JUMO join our network of 150 members who work to expand access to finance for small and medium businesses,” said Matthew Gamser, CEO of the Forum.

JUMO and its subsidiaries were established with the objective of conducting a financial technology business in Africa and Asia. JUMO World has developed a technology platform that enables the creation of reliable financial identities and credit profiles for consumers that are generally undeserved or unable to access traditional financial services, offering credit, saving, insurance and financial health products.

“Our Chief Customer Officer participated in the Africa SME Finance Forum in 2018 and was thoroughly impressed with the access to data, relevant information and auspicious networking opportunities,” said Andrew Watkins-Ball, CEO of Jumo. “It became apparent that with JUMO's focus on inclusion and development, especially for MSMEs, it would be beneficial to become a member of the SME Finance Forum.”
