Member News: Intesa Sanpaolo Enter Into A Long Term Strategic Partnership with Intrum, Creating A Market Leading Servicer Of Non-Performing Loans In Italy

Following the acceptance by the Board of Directors of Intesa Sanpaolo (a SME Finance Forum member) of the offer that the Bank received from Intrum, Intesa Sanpaolo and Intrum signed a binding agreement to establish a strategic partnership regarding the impaired loans (NPL), which provides for two transactions:

  • The establishment of a leading operator in the servicing of NPL in the Italian market, with the integration of the Italian platforms of Intesa Sanpaolo and Intrum.
  • Sale and securitization of a significant portfolio of non-performing loans of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, one of the most important transactions in the Italian market, amounting to 10.8 billion euros gross of value adjustments, at a price in line with the value load already determined for the part of Group non-performing loans with transferability characteristics, considering the sales scenario.
